It is about time that the Pope stops appearing that he supports anti-Semitism. Between boy wonder in the White House and the Pope, there has been a resurgence of propaganda and hate crimes against Jewish people.

In comments made to veteran Portuguese-Israeli journalist Henrique Cymerman Thursday, Francis was quoted as saying that “anyone who does not recognize the Jewish people and the State of Israel — and their right to exist — is guilty of anti-Semitism.”

Francis was also said to have backtracked on statements he was reportedly heard making earlier this month designating the visiting Abbas “a bit an angel of peace.”

The pope recalled telling Abbas in Italian that he hopes the Palestinian chief might one day become an angel of peace in the future, according to Cymerman — although ostensibly he has not yet reached that level.

The comments were sent by the Pope in writing to Cymerman along with Argentine Rabbi Abraham Skorka, one of Francis’s close interfaith colleagues, after the duo approached him following his meeting with Abbas, Channel 2 reported.

Semites are of that region, not specifically Jewish. Palestinians are Semites. It is not anti-Semitism to look for relief for the oppression of Palestinians. Israel has been unjust to the Palestinians. It does not matter that I understand why Israel acts as it does, and in my heart favor it, that nation is nonetheless perpetrating war crimes or acts of inhumanity against the native Palestinians.

Technically you are correct, it is a region rather than tribes of people. However, when speaking of anti-Semitism .... a noun; hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group ..... Merriam Webster...or use the source of your choice. They all say pretty much the same thing.

So you think that Israel has treated the Palestinians badly. Would you go into detail, please? I would like to her your point of view. Not what is written by the Liberals or Conservatives, but your individual view and your personal reasons for thinking as you do.

Truthfully, right or wrong, my heart is not in to fault the Jews. I want them there and secure. Perhaps not whatever it takes but reasonable security measures to maintain their state and thrive.
