It does look very interesting; I listened to the 1st 5 minutes or so. Don't have a half hour to give it my full attention but I will come back to it. Looks as if there are some other good discussions at the site.

There are a number of good topics there, but most of the videos are over a half hour. On our limited satellite service we can't do many without running up a high bill, so we select a couple of different ones each day.

Ok I disagree with his point of view. One example would be heterosexual couples that cannot have children, or don't want children, should they then not be allowed to wed?
Secondly any couple can create a comprehensive union, exclusivity and commitment. That is the reasoning behind them wanting to get married to begin with to be able to commit to each other, why should that be exclusive to just heterosexuals?
I find his point moot.

The first time I listened to this video I thought I was really dumb or crazy. The second time not so much. By the beginning of the third time, his arguments that seemed so blatantly flawed from the get grew more so. The fact he seemed so intelligent and sincere threw me for a while. I figured I must be wrong or somehow unable to understand his arguments. All his premises are merely what he sees marriage to be. The nature of marriage for thousands of years has been nothing like he described. Also, a couple marries and both know children are impossible: have they failed by this man's criteria to be actually married?
Women were objects, chattel, for most of history, marriages were arranged. Concubines in the Bible and elsewhere part of marriage. The offspring of marriages were possessions: do you want to return to that?
His arguments or mine have nothing whatsoever to do with what a society chooses as a more. However, the principles and laws of whatever government dictate our choice. "Male and female he created them...neither male nor female..."
