What a commanding list. I guess we have very few friends and many don't want to be friends with those who helped.

Kind of says it all doesn't it? I guess the apology tour was a failure.

The list is small but we (the US) did turn down offers of help from Canada, France, Iran, and a host of NGOs.

Perhaps it's a case of 'ask and you shall receive'.

Maybe that is part of the reason that we continue to help Israel and maybe even part of why Obama held back on the next shipment of fighter planes.

Yep, I am sure that Indonesia asked for help before we sent it in the form of floating hospitals when they had their huge tidal wave. I bet they didn't ever ask for any more help.

I am sure that Iran would have used that whole thing to their advantage, also.

Could you provide a link supporting your statement, especially Iran offering any assistance?

Well guys I'm here with just a little bit of home grown GOOD NEWS. While she had just lost her job of 15.5 years due to down sizing and watching the terrible tornados in our neighboring city of Moore Oklahoma, my daughter got an idea for a fundraiser to be able to make a difference in at least 4-5 families life's that lost everything in those days, May 19, 20, & 21. She put on a beauty pageant....A Beauty Walk Today For A "Moore" beautiful Tomorrow. We had contestants from babies, to gramma's, donations of every kind, silent auction, & got a car donated to a family that had thier truck wrapped around a truck. They had no insurance....and did you know, that FEMA is only for those that already have insurance......my first reaction on that is WHAT THE FRIC????????? Insert you know what word ijn place of fric.....anyway there is no help for those that really need it. But there are people like my daught that care, that will work thier tail off, that have the ability to pull people together and get things done!
Although she had never done this before she put on this pageant, got people to donate crowns, trophies, pictures, the venue to hold it in, jugdes, tabulators, and sooo much more that goes into having one of these pageants. And on top of that she gave 100% of the profits to the 4 families that were chosen to be sponsered! Not including the garage full, 3 times over & delivered of donated goods, clothes, kitchen items, toasters, microwaves, dish towels new, silverware, dishes, new pots n pans, ect, sheets, bedding, blankets, curtains, shoes, purses, coats, toys, drive toys, you name it, we had it! As of this morning she has collected over $10,000 cash to put in the hands of our family's! So how needs the other countries, when you have kids like mine in our country!

Oooohhh and on a really nice note, our channel 4 news got the story and she will be the Pay It Forward Hero on our. 10pm news this coming weds night ;-). WoooooHoooo!

You can DO ANYTHING you WANT to DO, you just have to WANT to DO it ENOUGH!

Look, I think you're right about the Iranian motive, but they offered.
The fact that we turned down foreign aid (because, hey that's our job....we don't get foreign aid, we give it) can't be turned around to throw ourselves a pity party that nobody helped us.

Was it Iran or their equivalent of our Red Cross? I have always thought the Red Crescent was that.

We very much appreciate the support and quick action of President Obama in approving Oklahoma's request for federal disaster assistance in the wake of today's devastating storms," said Governor Mary Fallin in press conference Tuesday.
