Californians could be drinking their urinal water.

The source for Santa Clara County’s newest, cleanest and virtually limitless water is the new $68 million sewage treatment plant near Alviso. The new Silicon Valley Advanced Water Purification Center will open this fall, but due to public perceptions, the water from the plant will be diverted for use in fire hydrants, landscaping and electrical fountains instead of homes.

Actually; I suspect even the most futuristic system could not clean up the crap dumped into the California sewage.

Well. Never mind the money problems out of California. It's just the tax payers money, after all.

No problem! A small town east of San Diego was turning sewage into water perfectly safe to drink way back in 1965. We are not living in the 1800's, you know. We have progressed a little.
