Sure, let's not stop at 10, if 10 is good, 11 is better - Am I bid 12 - why stop there -

It is cute to watch liberals act like they really believe government is so powerful it can defy every economic reality that has ever existed.

Any rational person with even a minimum knowledge of economics has known for years that the phrase "minimum wage" is equivalent to saying "vanishing jobs and opportunity". Thanks to our pathetic public education system, our kids are not able to do just about anything useful, so they are not worth anything to employers. But Liberal-Progressive-Democrats ignore reality and simply sell these low-info v**ers something that sounds good, continuing their "Hey, we'll give you something for nothing" strategy which they have used with amazing success for nearly 80 years.

Jim - how right you are. The idea that a person should get paid based on the value he generates is a foreign concept to those who look for the government to solve all problems. Their faith that the government can ignore basics economics would be cute if it wasn't so dangerous.

Meanwhile, the left has taken over public education, made it into a de facto federal function, and have so significantly reduced the levels of education that high school graduates are often functinally illiterate and over 30% of our kids can't even meet the modest requirement of a high school diploma - yet expect to have all the goodies a productive society generates.

I believe the reason Obama called for $9.00/hour is because that equates to $18K/year. Much more than that would disqualify most minimum wage earners from the EITC (IRS welfare).
