This is a video of China brand new hydrogen powered train. It is cheaper and it's only emission is water's steam.

Hydrogen is very explosive, and requires a lot of energy from f****l f**ls to separate it from oxygen molecules. It is not a cheap energy solution.

They have oxygen generators on submarines, that separates the oxygen from the hydrogen, and pipes the hydrogen over the side. When it is running, a watch person has to be assigned to closely watch the machine. BTW, the machines nickname is "the bomb."

to a liberal none of that matters, it's the thought that counts, if you want to call what they do thinking

It appears they worked out the kinks

No, they haven't. They just have a train engine that runs on hydrogen. What did it cost them? How much are they spending in generating the hydrogen? How are they storing it? What safety requirements are they putting in place?

We have hybrid cars that run on hydrogen too, but hydrogen has a long long way to go to become a viable cheap renewable energy source.

Well, the only emission from the train itself is steam. But that ignores the emissions from the power plant(s) that generated the electricity used to electrolyze the water to make the hydrogen. It being China, these will mostly be coal-fired.

Yes, O2 generators are potentially hazardous - if H2 levels are allowed to build up in the cells, they can explode. Not a pleasant prospect, especially if you are the watch stander (or anyone else in the immediate vicinity). Proper care and feeding of an O2 generator will keep it running safely.

I have always thought H2 might be a good interim step in improving t***sportation. I wonder how it would play out in very arid places where water is at a premium (assuming H2 production might be a local thing rather than a few mega plants as is done with petroleum). Would you power the infrastructure, grow crops, or take a shower? Might not be able to do all of them.

Another technology the submarines use is desalinization which is how the fresh water is made when away from port. It might make sense to look at desalinization to alleviate some of the drought effects before (or in conjunction with) creating an H2 economy. Just a thought.

Yes but if you look up my topic "is solar energy the future" this shows how this to can be fixed

Hydrogen is only explosive when contained. Do you think it could be as simple as adding a valve that relieves pressure when to much pressure builds up. Which would be impossible with your submarine thing sense the submarine has massibe amounts of pressure on the outside. But this is on land where a valve can be added to release this pressure. Is that a good enough explanation for you and Alex? You underestimate technology and the inavation of modern society.

Well, yeah, if a good way to store hydrogen can be perfected, then using it to store energy in a usable form from inconstant sources like wind and solar makes them a lot more practical.

I am so proud of you. Wrong or right you will fight for your beliefs. I sure don't understand why you are thought to be a liberal.
