Today is Friday the 13th. This is the second of 3 in 2015. Ever wonder why there can be more than one Friday the 13th in a year? Here is an explanation from Earth/Sky.com:

If a common year starts on a Thursday, there are three Friday the 13ths; and if a leap year begins on a Sunday, there are three Friday the 13ths. These are the two scenarios whereby three Friday the 13ths can occur in single calendar year.

Do you know the story of Friday the 13th?
There are several theories of it's association with bad luck.
In Norse mythology, 13 was considered unlucky in that 12 of the Gods were feasting, and who should show up but my namesake? His mischief caused a rift that ended with Baldur being slain.
Supposedly there were 12 Disciples at the last supper, and the last was Judas Iscaiot.
In 1307, King Phillip IV of France, in cahoots with his tame Pope, Clement V, had the Knights Templar rounded up and imprisoned on f**e charges. It seems Phillip had borrowed huge sums of money from the Templars to finance his war with England. Philip wasn't much of a general, but he was downright inspired when it came to dodging debt. What better way to get out of debt than to have the people you owe money jailed and executed on trumped up charges?
Friday the 13th was definitely unlucky for the Templars.

Friday the 13th has always been my lucky day. 13 has come up may times in my life, I lived in tent # 13 at Da Nang Air base in Viet Nam {no one in the tent ever got hurt in our year there) at work my QC inspection stamp was 13 (never got in trouble using it). I used to find money on friday the 13th, I regulary play 13 on lotteries and it sometimes comes up, but no big win yet.

The 13th is pretty much a lucky day for me. I usually have good luck with it. Lucky 7 has not done much for me

Then again, you aren't a Knight Templar who loaned a bunch of money to a deadbeat Frenchman.

Got a point there. I hope to be paid today for a $3200 wheel chair ramp I built for a system playing senior who did not need it. I am the only contractor in my county who does this for Senior services. I can see why.

Someone asked me if I ever missed the boys now that they are grown and on their own. I replied, "Every time the grass needs cutting."

I was born on the 13th of February. I've had several birthdays on Friday the 13th and the 13th has always been good for me.
