I think the article is approaching the t***h, but misses soemthing essential. I'm old enough to remember living in a neighborhood, a place where people knew each other pretty well, where the children were also known by more than just their immidiate families - and cared for by more than just their parents.

I didn't grow up in '50's suburbia, but in a '50's urban ghetto - and actually lived on welfare and in a housing project. Even in that environment families were intact - sometimes disfunctional, but still families. What is missing today in most places, including suburbia, is both a sense of inter-related neighors and families. Find out what happened to them and you'll find out what happened to us.

haha. my town of an impressive 2000 people IS a big family. I grew up with each family treating the other as family. That is something we need more of today, tomorrow, and always. sadly, most of the people who knew what trust and dignity really is have passed or are ignored by the newer swag-f*g generation. And if the government tries to force anything on people like us, well lets just say it wont be good for them. btw: I respect you in all ways for staying a kind relatable person. hard to come by these days.
