When my daughters see me they run to me. It doesnt matter how bad their day sucked or mine, they are just always elated to see me just as i to see them. Its good to be a dad. My girls Rock

I remember when we started planning our family. My Grandmother told me being a parent is the hardest job you will ever have but it is the most rewarding. My family brings me nothing but joy.

When my husband passed away for a long while my daughter suffered greatly. Being a Daddy's girl was very hard without him. When she began her own family, she told me: "I want to be the kind of parent you and Dad were." Is there a better compliment?

No, there is not. I bought an ink stamp, have never used it, but it sits next to pictures of my children and grandchildren. I suspect it is familiar to many. It reads "a hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child."

Word I try not to forget. I dabble in clay and one day, while browsing in a local store, a figurine of a father tenderly holding his baby caught my eye. I tucked it away in my mind. When each of my three sons became fathers, I made them a shadow box with the words of "In a Hundred Years" and managed to make a reasonable facsimile of that father and baby to go into the shadow box as well. It's too important of a message to let slip away or get tucked back in the recesses of our minds, but one that can easily get buried in the hustle and bustle of every day life, all those to do lists, if we're not mindful.

I was just thinking the same thing. Hoped we were going to get photos. Our teddy bears were all there in spirit. None of them wanted to go by UPS.
