The problem with attempting to define love is that it will never quite fit our worldly conventions or mores about what it means to love. The idealized (sterilized) version of love we get from the Bible has to be considered optional. Its demands are utterly absurd. Die instead of fight injustice? Turn the other cheek than put the unbeliever in his or her place? Walk the extra mile than spit in the face of deceivers and evil-doers? This is appeasement! History, in the form of Chamberlain, proved this wrong, stupid, and naive. No it did not. That was not love.

Are you talking about romantic love, philio love, parental love, agape love, erotic love, or the love of God? The first 5 types of love listed are those felt and defined by mankind. Mankind can't ever experience the same kind of love that God has for us as that would put us (the created) on an equal plane with God (the Creator.)

Oh good Lord. Feel that squishy stuff under your feet and between your toes? You just stepped into a big pile, unintentionally probably.

I neglected to inform him that 'agape' is the Greek word for 'love' which means 'agape love' is repetitive.

I pity the man. Wait until the originator of the topic starts on him.

Hmmm, I am thinking a drink and some hors d'oeuvres while we watch the show.   :D

Sounds like a winner to me. What can I fix you while you prepare the hors d'oeuvres?

My usual G&T with lime. I think we should have a nice seafood se******n. Perhaps some jumbo lump crabmeat, shrimp and steamed clams. I may do an olive mix. We do not want anything too heavy in case we have to make a fast escape.

I am going to make your seafood cocktail sauce spicy. I do not have those spicy peppers; however, have some strong horseradish I can use. For the clams, I have English butter.

Oh...hmm...the G&T is just perfect. You do such an excellent job. :D

If you wouldn't mind I would appreciate your leaving out the horseradish on mine.

Oh dear, just plain cocktail sauce? Do you want any spices added?

Si, unless you have some green chili peppers. If not, I will furnish them myself.

I have no green chili peppers. I am so sorry. UncleE has some type of red spicy mixture he uses on scrambled eggs; however, I am not sure what it is. I will prepare a separate bowl of cocktail sauce for you to add your chili peppers.
