Ya give up?

Oh Lord, my God
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works
Thy hands have made

I see the stars
I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout
The universe displayed

Then sings my soul
My Saviour, God, to Thee
How great thou Art
How great thou Art

Then sings my soul
My Saviour, God, to Thee
How great thou Art
How great thou Art

When Christ shall come
With shouts of adulation
And take me home
What joy shall fill my heart?

Then I shall bow
In humble adoration
And there proclaim, my God
How great Thou Art

Then sings my soul
My Saviour, God, to Thee
How great thou Art
How great thou Art

Then sings my soul
My Saviour, God, to Thee
How great thou Art
How great thou Art

How great Thou Art
How great Thou Art

Oh right, the political twist to keep this topic out of chitchat...

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

How great thou art?
How great thou art?...

Yes, and amen! Because HE lives, I can face tomorrow. Because HE lives, all fear is gone. Because I know, I know HE holds the future, and life is worth the living, just because HE lives!

What for? You never do. LOOOVE Jesus, save the whales, save the baby harp seals, stop global smarming, prevent caterpillar fuzz allergy, repent, worship, righteous devotion, hallelujah He Lives.
No he doesn't, sorry, all dead and gone to dust. What you worship is a caricature of who he was, drawn from ancient writings and amplified by a fervent need to grasp onto and identify with something greater and far better than your miserable self. Good luck with grasping the ineffable, the frustration of trying to clutch and hold mere thoughts, mental pictures with no solidity, the YEARNING for some contact with that which isn't, it must be addicting or why do you do it? No wonder there are f**gellants who beat their own flesh to bloody pulp in religious frenzies, screaming, shrieking for some recognition, a mere touch, from that Divine they want so desperately to contact, to be recognized by.

Religious devotion is nothing more than a constant yearning to be better, a hope of being absolved, a prayer for forgiveness, a self-imposed brainwashing that cleanses the believer's guilt for a day. Oh, TO LIVE WITHOUT SIN! To be sinless, like Jesus, YES, like Jesus! Let us join hands and pray, and together we will feel so very righteous and cleansed with our group therapy. Oh thank God for churches and worshipers, after our week of doing wrong things and making mistakes and filling our minds with neurotic guilt, we can join hands and forgive each other in Christ's name amen.

Yes, you are so right, it certainly isn't Obama, nor any politician on either side of the aisle. Christ lives in our hearts and should govern all we do every day. I don't mean in the silly context of what would Jesus drive? It should be in how we treat others, and how we love them. Loving our neighbor as ourselves requires that we help our neighbor be a better person, not glorify his sins. To truly love our neighbor requires that we show him how to work and make him understand the honor and value of work, rather than keep him in a childlike dependent state by providing for him what he should provide for himself. Love says that those who cannot work or care for themselves should receive our help, but not those who need to be self reliant. Of course it also requires that we love ourselves, and not wallow in self pity or self condemnation, which is difficult for many who often resort to drugs and alcohol when the true love for oneself is too difficult to manage.
God Bless and keep you always.

Alan Jackson is one of my favorites, although SWMBO prefers videos of him actually singing. He will be the entertainment at the NRA convention on April 11 and 12, Unfortunately we have prior commitments that require us to be there, and SWMBO is very disappointed. Anyone who sees the Saturday night concert should feel lucky and hopefully will report back to us all, probably on Prayer Team.

B****sheep, I searched everywhere for meaning in my life. I was raised as a minister's child and h**ed everything about my life. I searched for t***h and meaning. Wicca, Buddhism, New Age Cults, wh**ever I thought would lead me to peace in my soul. Nothing worked.
My life changed when I allowed Jesus to come into my heart.
I won't change your opinion and will not try to.
Organized religion has no place in my life. A one on one relationship with my Creator does.

Thanks mcm, my sentiments exactly!

And then one day, I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!

Thank you npp, always a thoughtful comment from you!

Here's one for the Obamamites, sodomites and Sheep mites, (I can feel `em around here someplace).

All three of them mites get under my skin and makes it crawl.

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Thank you my friend I like Carrie Underwood's version much better! Alan Jackson's popped up first and so, I used it.

I really wanted to post that graphic and used all the rest as filler. Didn't want anyone to leave this thread spiritually hungry or anything.

God bless!

He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Shepherd My sheep." He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Tend My sheep.
