Sen. Tom Cotton: We Have To Be Willing To Go To War

If America wants to defeat ISIS, the U.S. military must demonstrate itself to be a foreboding enemy, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) and Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT) explained at a panel at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday.


“Air operations alone will not defeat ISIS,” Zinke said. “I've been there. ISIS is evil. You're not going to reform a group that beheads children, or burns pilots in cages. They're not reformable. And ISIS is as much a battle within Islam as it is between the East and West. We have a duty to fight ISIS.”


Zinke, a retired Navy SEAL Commander and member of the House Armed Services committee, agreed that the current strategy against Islamic extremism in the middle east has not been successful.


“I think the American public is tough, but we deserve the t***h,” he said. “We won't be able to win against this enemy if we conduct it from over the horizon.”


Though Zinke commented that he wouldn't have chosen to go into Iraq given what is now known, he believes that only a military operation with full support – including medevac and air support – will truly remove the threat of the terrorist group.


“America is a force for global order because we're the only global power, and have been since the beginning of our country,” Cotton said. “The alternative is not perpetual peace and stability. Without America the alternative is disorder and chaos.”


For the military to truly be formidable, it requires both funding and support from the government and the people. Right now, Cotton said, the military lacks the funding it needs to win a war.


“Too many people think our current president is not willing to fight a war to protect our interests, which are protecting our territory, defending the lives of our citizens, standing up for our allies, and protecting our commercial interest around the world,” said Cotton, who served in Iraq as an Army Ranger.


The decline of America as a strong military power has not only caused a threat to national security, but is a contributor to global instability, according to Cotton. This disorder has grown and festered in the Middle East during the current administration.


“If we are willing to fight a war, and are prepared to fight a war,” Cotton said, “then war is much less likely to occur, because our allies will defer to us, knowing that we take their security interests into account, our enemies will fear us, knowing that we will confront and defeat them in any manner.”

The way we are going now, we will never defeat ISIS because our CIC will not really fight them. He has stated that if things get bad, he will side with the muslims and it appears he was not kidding.

He has no love for this country and none for our military. He uses them and abuses them, but he does not even like them. He is a t*****r to our country and our way of life, yet he is still in office.

It would seem that our country has gone so far down hill that Congress is not willing to fight for it any more. There was a time when even thought there were differences in the parties, they both stood for America.

It would seem that now days Congress does not care much for America and feels about the same about Christ. Congress will not fight for our way of life, but are fighting to change it. While the number of people in Congress is a very small percentage compared to the rest of the population, they have a strangle hold on our way of life.

The American people no longer seem to care for this country and our way of life either, since they seem so unwilling to fight for it. They are content to just let it go and are more interested in not making waves then standing up to be counted.

Americans seem more interested in watching TV then watching what our government is doing. They all sit around and talk about it, but that is as far as they seem ready to go. There are more protests over some black criminal then our government taking away our rights. Our freedoms are a thing of the past and we are loosing more every day, but the American people still cannot be bothered.

I have seen stringer feelings aired about the latest results of the football game then I have seen over our government taking away our freedoms. People are more interested in making sure their favorite Senator is re-elected rather then making sure they have someone that cars about them and our Country.

We have people drooling about Hillary running for President then the fact that she has done NOTHING for this country except take it for everything she can. The only thing she cares about is power and money, yet we have people pushing for her to run this next time.

We have a President that is in office because of an e******n he stole with v***r f***d and the people don't care. He has constantly refused to tell us anything about his past, yet he is still in office. He is NOT a natural born citizen, yet no one seems to care about that either. He rubs our noses in it and we still don't seem to care.

I don't know what it will take to really wake this country up, but from what I have seen of it, it is still sleeping. Our President is, or should be, a leading figure on the world stage, but we have a wimp that will not stand up for us and has told us he will side with the muslims, yet we still don't care.

What will it take America before you wake up? What does it take to look at the person we are putting in that office and make sure we have someone that loves this country, not someone that h**es it.

It would seem that the older people of this country are the only ones that still care if it is run by a man that cares enough about it to put his life on the line for it. The future of our country is in the hands of the younger people and they don't seem to care what happens to it. I guess they think that it will always be there, but the country I knew is no longer there.

Since when does this government have the right to put people in jail for no reason and to keep them there as long as it feels like it? Since when does it have the right to take our money and give it to someone else just to buy their v**e, because that is all they are doing. The first time they loose that v**e will be the last day they get any money.

We have a government that is working outside the Constitution and does what it wants to do and no one cares. They put judges on the SC that will v**e in their favor, not according to the Constitution. They have a judge that has never worked a day of her life in a court room, yet she was put on the highest court in the land. She is about a qualified as our President to hold office, yet there she is and no one seems to care.

I am getting tired. I am tired of people not doing anything to keep this country great. I am tired of people demanding that this government take care of them from cradle to grave. I am tired of a President that will not enforce our laws and lets millions come in and take our money and gives nothing in return.

I am tired of our President putting muslim brotherhood members in our government and telling the muslim world what we are going to do to fight them. Since when do we tell our enemies all out plans? This one does and no one does anything about it. That is treason and if anyone else did it they would be under the jail, but our so called President gets away with it.

Since when do we let the people in the highest offices in the land get away with breaking the law and nothing is said to them, let alone put in jail for it. Our government is not there for us to serve them, they are there to serve us. People, it is past time to wake up before you find yourself in one of those camps they built AND YOU LET THEM..................
