Porker of the Month: HUD Secretary Julián Castro

PorkerCitizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) has named Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Julián Castro Porker of the Month for putting taxpayers at risk for yet another housing-related bailout.

On February 11, Secretary Castro testified before the House Financial Services Committee at an oversight hearing on the Federal Housing Administration (FHA).

The hearing was convened two weeks after FHA, in response to President Obama’s January 7 directive, reduced its mortgage insurance premiums by 50 basis points, from 1.35 percent to 0.85 percent.

FHA is the single largest provider of mortgage insurance and has a 100 percent taxpayer-backed repayment guarantee should the homeowner default.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, FHA’s mortgage guarantees cost taxpayers $15 billion between 1992 and 2012. FHA also received a $1.7 billion bailout on September 30, 2013.

In addition, FHA is required to maintain 2 percent in capital reserves, but it only has 0.41 percent.

When queried by members of the committee about the premium reduction and FHA’s precarious financial status, Secretary Castro was at pains to provide even basic information and repeatedly delivered a series of meaningless platitudes about the benefits of homeownership.

For planting the seeds for the next major housing bailout and failing the most basic financial t***sparency test about FHA finances, CAGW names Secretary Castro the February Porker of the Month.

Dodd and Frank, with the help of Frank's boyfriend at Countrywide, Senator BHO in Illinois and ACORN intimidating banks to lend money to the minorities [without a pot to piss in] by the tens of thousands, on $0. down loans, coached by ACORN's old attorney, BHO [again] to lie on the applications about [their] ability to pay the mortgage; that started to go bust just before the 2008 e******ns.

And even better than THAT, the lending institutions that were being FORCED to lend the money to applicants who were often living on food-stamps and Welfare, were promised a TARP when BHO was elected to repay all the bad loans, so that all the mortgages that couldn't possibly be paid by the mortgagee's would be paid for by - US!!!

It was suddenly a win, win, win, win, win situation. "Dubya" would be forever demonized, BHO would be elected, liberal progressives would control both Houses and the Executive Branch, lending institutions would take a huge portion of TARP, Republicans would never be elected again, and many foreclosed minority houses were too scrambled in Mortgage red-tape to EVER be actually foreclosed. Now, where was the loss I wonder???

The housing and financial markets will collapse just before the 2016 e******ns, the president and the liberal progressives will skate, the Republican Houses will be AT FAULT, IN BOLD PRINT HEADLINES, the "drive-by" media and the "alphabet channels" will press the point, every hour, for the hour, and "Net Neutrality" will have kicked-in to silence OUR conservative voices, completely.
