That last picture reminded me of a little problem we had with our of our KC 135 tankers one day. One of the guys riding in the jump seat was messing around with some trim and it finally kicked off the auto pilot, which made the plane start into an outside loop. Since no one had their seat belts on, everyone was thrown up on the top of the cockpit and couldn't regain control until after the plane had done the first half of the loop. They finally got it under control and landed that thing and you talk about bending a spar. That wing was in sad shape, but it did hold together. Needless to say, there are some new desk jockeys made shortly after that happened.

A while back a few of us were at Grandma's Kitchen talking about military chow !
I related about going to the chow hall at Luke and wondering what that smell was ??
Mind you this was when I was a 19 yr old farm boy !
As it turned out it was Lobster tail and believe it or not I had never heard there was such a thing as Lobster !
Boy that really got the non Air Force guys fired up !

When I was in Vietnam (1967-1969) I went to phu cat air force base,to go to the PX,I could not believe,the AF guys,were all sitting around under beach umbrellas,IN CIVILIAN CLOTHES,,their barracks were cement block buildings,and AIR CONDITIONED,THE PX,had EVERYTHING,from beer to TV s,I had a hard time believing this was a US Military base...

Regarding the Navy pix, I can't say I ever saw anyone dressed that way in any naval eating facility, either ashore or aboard ship. In fact, I can't say I ever saw anyone ever dressed that way in any naval facility, anywhere, under any circumstances. It is a funny picture, though it resembles Loki's. but at that time
the obvious pansy in the mess hall
would have been (courteously) escorted outside
