It is utterly impossible to be Christian and American, or Christian and any other nationality. A Christian is a citizen of and an Ambassador to heaven: no earthly ties to kingdoms of the world. None! Dual citizenship is just a house divided. A Christian standing boldly in t***h may or may not conform to a political policy or agenda, but he or she is only aligned with the Gospel and not any party. To align with a worldly party to speak gospel-t***h is to compromise the message of Christ. Scripture is not liberal or conservative: it is Eternal T***h!

I will be completely honest here. When it comes to laws, I will obey them as long as they are not in conflict with the laws of my faith. My first and foremost duty is to my God, then my family and then my fellow man.

To my faith, greed is one of the absolute worst things a person can practice. Live simply so others may simply live. This country has become a breeding ground for h**eful, selfish, and dishonest people. America legislates misery for a good portion of the people.

We have been brainwashed into thinking things will make me happy. They won't. When we leave this world, we can not take them with us. We can leave this world a little better than we found it. I have worked to give my family a better life but I will not do this at the expense of my fellow man.

I believe many great t***hs are but elements of a tautology. The Bible also teaches Christians to subject and submit themselves to their earthy masters and rulers as if to God. Jesus urges rendering to Caesar that which is Caesar's.

Miss Manners teaches me that while making a tangential comment in a conversation is reasonable and a polite option, one should allow one's host the choice of steering into major shifts in topic or bringing the conversation back to the original subject.

You are so right there. Things in themselves will not make you happy. Even more so if you got them from other people's work by demanding them because the other person has more than you do. What makes me happy is knowing that I have done the best I could on wh**ever I have undertaken. Having enough money to provide the necessities in life is enough. But then, we live in a double wide and drive 11 and 12 year old cars. On the other hand we have no debt, so that can't be all bad.

Another area of mutual agreement! I am technically eligible for food stamps. But between my garden and willingness/preference for made from scratch foods, (bread, stews, casseroles), a frugal nature, a home with a kitchen, storage and fridge/freezer, I have more than enough for a frail old lady to eat. I worry for my homeless friends who have none of these things.
I agree it is selfish to take more than one needs.
