My best friend is suffering from stage three COPD. One of the medications he was using to control it is no longer covered by his insurance provider, because it's too expensive. He has been having severe difficulty breathing as a result. His doctors are trying to find something else that works, but after trying two different medications that do absolutely nothing for him, it's not looking good. So, could someone please tell me why Obamacare is so wonderful? I must have missed something.

All other countries get cheaper drugs for the most part. canada has cheaper american made drugs than the US. They get a huge discount for buying in bulk, something the pharma lobby has kept the US from doing. This has been a problem for decades, and the paid for politicians will not change it as long as they get paid.

In 2006 -- I worked for a Patient Assistance Program COMPANY -- an outfit who simply administered the complicated paperwork of anyone who was prescribed a certain drug but could prove that they fell under a certain income limit and might qualify for getting the medicine SUPPLIED TO THEM AT NO COST by the pharmaceutical company itself who manufactured the drug

the rules were all different PER EACH DRUG COMPANY (P****r, AstraZeneca, merck, etc)

the paperwork was HELL -- but not rocket science -- I mean - if you supplied the correct paperwork -- you could get P****r, Astazeneca, etc TO

Whether or not Obamacare was designed to offset costs by dumping them back on the insurance companies, that is exactly what it does.

Any company facng increased operating expenses will pass that on to the consumer. Basic economics. This law does not work. It must be repealed and if ntl. healthcare is ever going to work it must be well thought out BEFORE being passed.

I am really disgusted with both sides of the aisle. Both sides automatically walk all over and throw away any thoughts or suggestions from the other side as if the opposition never has any valid view on anything. How many good workable plans have been trashed just because the opposition refuses to even consider something from their political oppomenrs? Again, all DC politicians need to go and be replaced with someone with ears.

If possible, have your friend purchase a vick personal vaporizer. It is small has a "face mask tube" you put your face on and breath in the stream...it will help a ton.
