Inspectors general from a variety of different government agencies have testified before the House Oversight Committee, and new Chairman Jason Chaffetz, about the lack of cooperation and t***sparency from high ranking officials. In this first gearing of the 114th Congress Wednesday, 47 inspectors general were present from the Department of Commerce, Defense, Intelligence, the EPA, the Equal Opportunity Commission, Homeland Security, NASA, and the Peace Corps, and others.
Trey Gowdy was a guest on Tuesday's edition of ON The Record with Greta Van Susteren to evplain that these IGs are independent auditors who work for the taxpayers to find government waste, fraud, and abuse. Gowdy said these IGs discovered the GSA, Fast and Furious, and the IRS scandals. The Inspectors General Act of 1978 states, in section 6, that each IG is authorized to have access to all records, reports, documents and materials. Gowdy said that these IGs are not getting requested materials from the departments. "This administration managed to bring all those different groups together; like they have never not brought any other groups together; and they're all in agreement that the administration is not giving them the documents they need" the congressman said.
Gowdy suspects that some of these agencies are deliberately hiding information. He said it may be necessary to threaten a department's funding to coerce them into providing the requested documentation.
You have to hit them in the only place that anyone in Washington feels it, which is in the back pocket. Get the appropiators in the House and Senate involved and say if you don't comply with the statute we're going to cut your budget

Understandable. YOu are one sick puppy who could use a good shrink. You side with the enemy of America against your fellow Americans. There is NOTHING about Obama OR his entire Administration that would make any normal American believe they have any interest in our nation at all, yet you defend them. And that makes YOU scum.

There has been a continuing climate of concealment among all of the departments, even against congressional investigating committees. Lies about lost documents, difficulty finding records and any other excuse are used to prevent evidence from falling into the hands of investigators. These are public servants, they have no right to conceal the records of our government.

No corporation fails to safeguard their records, all of the minutiae of daily activity, on computers is backed up, usually more than once and in several locations. Crucial documents, such as tax records, process control records, and warranty records, are particularly safeguarded. The government is undoubtedly doing the same.

When someone, such as Lois Lerner conceals evidence of potential wrongdoing by pleading improbable equipment malfunctions or loss of data, you know that they are more afraid of the consequences of being found out than they are of any penalty incurred for incompetence or perjury.

The solution here is to make the punishment far greater than any other consequence they fear. Subpoena the data, give them 30 calendar days to produce the evidence requested, then jail the head of the department if there is no compliance. Confiscate all of his or her assets and incarcerate them, in Gitmo, to wait trial for treason. On the 31st day repeat with the next echelon of command and continue each day thereafter, removing another layer of command until the evidence is produced or suitable testimony is presented. Enforce the death sentence for treason.

Every form of communication with non departmental persons, e-mail, phone, teleconference, meetings, should be logged, with identification of the participants and subject matter. These logs would provide a correlation between the activities under investigation, and the persons initiating the activity. Illegal activities must, of necessity, be clandestine. There will be only a limited handful of individuals who can be trusted to carry out such activities and the trail to them should be easily uncovered.

Your solution is the best way to handle rogue public employees. I agree with you wholeheartedly and unabashedly. Departments should be de-funded, and somebody should be tried in a court of law. These offenders have made a mockery of our government and our judicial system, and they are abetted by a Congress which does nothing useful. Congress should also feel the sting of wrath by the citizens who are the victims of the very people they elect and pay.

One problem with that; The Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, Hal Rogers, (R-KY ), is one of the major players. He is being investigated by the Army for overcharging them on equipment, awarding contracts to campaign contributors when other firms had come in with much cheaper bids. This rat supported HR 83 and the CRominbus, and it seems that another of his campaign contributors is making some serious money off of this travesty of amnesty.

Winning by 2% of the popular v**e against a milquetoast non-opponent like Romney who acted as if he wanted to lose is not exactly an "ass-kickin', slick. The amazing thing is that the margin of victory was so slim, considering the almost non-existent opposition.
