Another complete lie. Abbott had no authority to approve anything. See below you feckless doddering dolt.

When Hurricane Beryl hit the Texas coast Monday, Gov. Greg Abbott was over 6,900 miles away, on an "economic development" trip visiting Taiwan and South Korea. He did not issue any public announcement around the storm ahead of time, as his being out of state left Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick to assume the role of acting governor.

Being out of the state, Gov. Abbott is not authorized to request federal aid, so the responsibility instead falls to the acting governor.

I checked out your source, it is moderately liberal with a high degree of reliability, according to AllSides and Media Bias

Funny how the governor, lt. Governor, and phone records all say that biden never tried to call them.

Actually why would he do that, it's up to Abbot to reach out to him, and they sort of need to know the extent of damage before asking for help.

Texas doesn't want any federal oversight or regulation, so why should they ask for any federal help when it doesn't go well?

The lt. Governor was in contact with FEMA and Texas equivalent. If that's the case the federal government should get out of Texas way on securing the border
