Only one error in your message - Ohio does have ONE inland natural lake (not counting Lake Erie) - actually a bunch of lakes all linked together but only one of them is over 55 feet deep - the others are average only 12 feet deep. The Portage Lakes which included the largest and deepest Turkeyfoot Lake were formed during the end of the last ice age along with all the Great Lakes about 14,000 years ago (thank God for G****l W*****g) when the glaciers that "flattened" the state of Michigan and most of northern Ohio, stopped their progress and left these in their wake just south of Akron Ohio. The glaciers were several miles thick and left many very large round rocks that originated in Canada. all around the Portage Lakes State Park. :-) :-)
