What makes America great?

America's greatness has been and always be a joint effort. America was made great by the farmers who fed a nation, the miners whose coal fired the mills to build a strong America.

It is the old soldier who comforts the young soldier as they huddle together in the trenches of war, fighting to keep the other alive.

We are and have always been a nation of proud immigrants united in a common cause.

We are the engineers, bakers, salesmen, and laborers that fight tirelessly side by side against the ruthless dictators and their armies.

It is the weak and the strong, the men and the women, the big and the small who fight for a common cause. They fight for each others freedom to live, love and worship as each sees fit.

Together we make America Strong.

Agreed.

Unity makes us strong.

Diversity does not.

I have had several injury's that kept me out of the job market . It did not matter to employers that I was tough and had healed well . I had to make my own job . America is one of very few country's where I could do that . I went from staring at a form promising me social security at age 31 to having a wildly successful career as a General Contractor -- All I had to do is do what I said I was going to do and I done it and more . Thank you America for giving me a good life against all odds .

The problem is government always gets in the way. The free market allows people to determine & seek their own best interests.

Sometimes, yet, not always.

Excerpt: In between, most economists believe it is a question of balance, with the government intervening in areas where the market fails to provide a desirable outcome.

My immediate response to this single sentence was who decides what's desirable? I'm sure there are other far better informed libertarians who could provide lots more.
