I have never believed the spying was aimed at terrorists. I believe the primary reason for snooping on telephone and email messages was to spy on Obama's enemies in the U.S. Repiblican and many democrats in congress , in the judicial system, actually in all of government at every level, are considered to be Obama's enemies. The Obama cartel wants to know what each of them is doing, and without any privacy in phone or internet privacy they are unable to comminicate without Obama knowing their every move.
Dictators have enemies and must know what those enemies are doing, saying, and planning.

I love your blame assessment of Obama but In do not hear anything about the people who originally instituted the whole program , it isn't just Obama who is abusing the program it is the whole military-industrial political system , the time to complain and act was when the system was created , now that the horses are out of the corral yes by all means close the gate since the right has been so helpful in creating this monster

Quid Pro Quo, DALE: Blaming it on Bush is horse dou'vers. Senator Sensenbrenner who wrote the Patriot Act, says the Act was meant to allow surveillance of a foreign call into the U.S. and was never meant to allow surveillance of the entire populus of the U.S., and he cited the specific section of the Act he wrote.
