I know you see this first hand, as you live in Red California. But I see it as a ruination of our economy, Price wise, and availability of energy to charge these things.
As I understand it, these cars are fire hazards and I would think there should have already been RE-CALLS on these things for safety reasons.
Although, re-calls would (I believe) put the manufacturers out of Buisness.
And then there is the strip mining to get these earth based minerals and metals out of the ground to build batteries.
I don't see this working at all.

American EV makers don’t assemble batteries themselves. They rely on a far-flung supply chain. The raw materials are mined primarily in countries such as Australia, China, Congo and Indonesia. Chemical processing, battery components and assembly are mostly done by Chinese companies.
The U.S. doesn’t have the mineral capacity to create the “union mining jobs” that are currently being done by s***e labor in other countries.
Besides, how can you justify raping the environment to obtain the massive amounts of lithium, cobalt and graphite let alone the impact caused by processing? Hypocrite much?
