When I was a drywall hanger, ages ago, a full twelve foot sheet with no cutouts was called a bird. Whenever the guy measuring would get one he'd call out BiRD to the guy on the stack cutting. The cutter would start singing that song. Sometimes we would all come out of the rooms we were working in and sing along dancing and cutting up for a bit before going back to work. Maybe you had to be there but it was fun times. I think drywall hangers are the only ones besides beer tasters that's allowed to drink beer on the job. Due to dusty conditions and all . At least that's the way I remember it

I've taped and textured some but mostly just hung. We had a taper come behind us and got paid twice as much for doing half the work

A guy on our crew called bigfoot could nail a twelve foot sheet on the ceiling (the lid) by himself , bare foot without a horse. We got a lot of free beer from other crews betting against him. He was over seven feet tall and sounded like Grober on Sesame street.

Lizard was close to the same and when he spread his fingers out his hand would cover a dinner plate .
