How many times now have you been informed that the National Firearms Act of 1934 prohibits civilian ownership of automatic weapons?
Any firearm that fires one shot with each pull of the trigger IS NOT an assault weapon.
Any semi-auto firearm - pistol, rifle or shotgun - will fire as fast as one can pull the trigger,
therefore, any semi-auto firearm can "k**l lots of people quickly".
In 2021,
over 6000 murders were committed with a handgun,
in 4700 murders the weapon was unspecified,
over 1000 murders were committed with knives or other cutting instruments,
461 people were k**led by hands, fists, and feet - beaten to death,
and, in 2021, 447 murders were committed with rifles of all types.

I think the US should adopt the rules that New Zealand did after the Christchurch massacre. However, the most important part is to ban military style assult rifles.
