You accuse repubs of holding hostage while your beloved dems refuse to negotiate, saying you will only approve straight raise of the ceiling. Ever think how we got here? BOTH PARTIES have over spent and over spent for years, congress refuses to pass a balanced budget amendment because that would cause them to not over spend. At some point the payments on the debt will be more than the nation can pay if this continues. Put a balanced budget amendment in, stop sending money to foreign countries that never gets to the people it is supposed to help. Take congress health care away and let them have the same as people on medicare. Take away their pension, make them pay into social security and that is their retirement (see how fast those programs get fixed). Historically dems don't negotiate in good faith, do this and we'll do this. Well, in my experience repubs say okay but the dems never do what they promised not to mention they don't negotiate, it's their way or no way!

None of these fools truly understand the negative affects of too much debt to GDP. How long have we had social programs that haven't even been stress tested or modified? Politician's use these Social programs, not to improve lives but to garner v**es. Unfortunately the majority of American v**ers, Kevyn is a great example, are ignorant. When was the last time the DOD was audited? Why is no Inspector General assigned to oversee the ridiculous amount of aid and weapons we are sending to the Ukraine? These are much more important questions than some B.S. debt default.
