On a very hot day last Summer, as I walked home from the bank, I was annoyed by a stupid motorist. I had the light, and I wanted to get across the street, but this guy had his head craned to the West looking for a break in the light flow of traffic, and oblivious to me. He took his sweet time before turning. Pedestrians are wise to be wary.
I had recently read in the paper about another i***t motorist in a nearby small town. The man was cruising one of our highways and plowed into another car, k*****g two people. The police thought that the man was watching a DVD as he drove. The suspect claimed that he was only listening to a CD. But police a DVD player(activated), a screen and a disc in the player. Good evidence that he is guilty. Meanwhile, two people are dead. It is a common trait among people who do horrible things to say it wasn't their fault.
Walk carefully ,pedestrians, for you never know when a distracted driver is coming your way.Zeno

As a motorcycle rider I always assume that the automobile drivers around me do not see me. It's every man for himself out there - walking or driving.

Many people just don't 'see' motorcycles. I have witnessed the aftermath of several motorcycle and auto collisions. The motorcyclist always loses. I try to always be cognizant of motorcycles having ridden them in my younger days.

when I was still riding I saw many bike riders on the highway would ride way to the right of the lane all this does is encourage the car drivers to share the lane with you when they want to pass I always rode where the left car tire would run so if they wanted to pass they had to change lanes

I guess I must be lucky. I ride an adult tricycle which is much too wide for bicycle paths. I have found so many people concerned and warning me against drivers. I have found that every car gives me at least a car length while going into another lane or will wait until I can get into a crosswalk to pull over. I've been driving my cycle for over 4 years and have not had a close shave. I certainly appreciate the drivers who are concerned for me.

P.S. I have both front and rear (many) lights so I can't be missed.   ;) ;)

I am very pleased for you Alicia. If I ever have to use your mode of t***sportation I would hope to have the same consideration from drivers.

I was talking about motorcycles I don't think you're going to be riding a tricycle on the freeway

It's not a matter of having to use my cycle, I love it and, given the choice of shopping locally, I would rather take the cycle. Cyclers are more fun people. They wave to each other rather than using the finger. In addition to adding to my health, I need no insurance nor gas for the cycle. I need fill the tank on my auto only once a month, if that! I believe more people should try it.

When I need the freeway, I take the car. Locally - within 3 miles, I prefer the cycle. As I said previously, no insurance, no gas and I finish my trip healthier. At present I ride in only one gear. As soon as I get gears - LOOK OUT! I'm unlimited :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: ;)

PS: I have already taken the cycle beyond where most people think is possible or, better stated, imaginable. Limits exist only in the mind.

I once had a '54 Triumph T-Bird. Never an oil leak or any other problems.
