What is your purpose

Ephesians 2:10

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God had before ordained that we should walk in them."

Have you ever stopped to consider that God had an assignment for you to accomplish. Your childhood dream for your future. Did you accomplish that dream? That may have been His assignment, His work for you. When you are fulfilling your assignment, you feel comfortable with your life, you are in your niche.

Look at a few assignments, or add your own - there are rulers or leaders, law givers, farmers, seafarers, soldiers, writers, healers, a parent and more - what was your assignment? Are you still looking, searching for that satisfaction that comes from hearing, "A job well done, I am pleased with you."

Never give up. Never accept that you are too old. Rather than accept defeat, analyze what you are doing, what you have done all your life. Maybe you have viewed your life through a small window. It is time to return to focus, focus on the accomplishments you experienced, then weigh your success. Your assignment was there, and in some way you probably fulfilled it without realizing it. Reassess, it will lift your self-projection, your life's accomplishment.

Like the sentiment, but would it just be pompous to take some credit for your aspirations and your self-determination to accomplish them? Is it possible that humility or humbleness may be expressed by How we accomplish our dreams and, indeed, what those dreams are? Might we be, each one of us, the sole intermediary to what each of us recognizes as the godhead- and 'universal dogma' be damned?

It amazes me that you view taking credit for personal aspirations as being pompous, yet fail to see that viewing ourselves as the "sole intermediary to what each of of us recognizes as the Godhead," as not being the epitome of pomposity..

Don't be amazed, just consider the source. God has plans for each of us, but many people intentionally move in the opposite direction. For the rest of us, particularly me, we know what we should be doing to fulfill God's plan but we either are too lazy to work on the plan. or too self absorbed to give it much thought.

I'm still amazed. Isn't " intentionally moving in the opposite direction of Gods plan for us," and not doing Gods plan because of laziness or self absorption about the same thing ?? I believe if we truly seek Gods will for us, then we must rest in the knowledge that in Gods time we will know what he requires. We of course then have the choice to obey or be Jonah..

God's plan for us may be very simple and may seem almost non existant. His plan for you may be to be a good parent or just to be a good influence on the lives of people around us or to be in a way an angel to someone we do not know---i think many people can relate to this. Good morning and God bless all!!

You misread- I asked if YOU thought it was pompous. I don't. The Quakers do not disagree that each of us has an equal standing with which to interpret and communicate with god and they stand out as being extremely plain and "unpompous" across the whole religious spectrum, as do Buddhists and others who do not have priestly intermediaries between us and our god, higher-self or wh**ever you would call it.

And what source is that oh non-judgemental christian? I will put my moral fortitude and my seeking spiritual understanding along side of anybody who is that opinionated.

Then something upbeat helps, and that was great.
