The Real Issue On The Indictment

First, i have said repeatedly I do not want Trump to run. The real issue here is whether the judicial system can be used to go after a political enemy. Democrats have done this before. They do not care if Trump is convicted as long as they stop him from running. The Federal government did not persue this and neither did the e******n commission. The statue of limitations has run out of he main issue so the D.A.has to be "creative" to come up with charges. We have already seen a corrupt DOJ and AG practice selective application of the law and now we have this. If Trump was not running for President this case would never see the light of day. The real issue is do we want a judicial system like Russia, China, North Korea, etc.?

If this is to stop Trump from running it is a dumb move by the Democrats. I have not heard that a guilty verdict of e******n i**********e will disqualify him from accepting the GOP nomination. It would probably make him stronger.

If the Statue of Limitations had run out Trump’s lawyers would have quashed it months ago.

While a conviction is in no way a sure thing, should he be found guilty, Trump could go to prison for up to four years. Asked earlier this month if he would drop out of the 2024 p**********l race if he were to be indicted, the ex-president and current p**********l candidate responded: “I wouldn’t even think about leaving,” adding that criminal charges would “probably…enhance my numbers.”
The Levine Report.

It will disqualify him from accepting the GOP nomination. Not based upon what I have read. Despite an indictment, Trump is free to run in 2024. The Constitution requires only three things of candidates. They must be:

A natural born citizen
At least 35 years old
A resident of the U.S. for at least 14 years

It is pretty apparent this is partisan politics, and will do more to solidify Trump's nomination than anything else the radical left could come up with.

Statute of limitations has run out on some possible charges so the D.A. created new ones by stretching inrepretations of the law.

It not about stopping him from becoming president. If convicted and sentenced he could still win. And might be able to pardon himself immediately.

Bear in mind that the reason Bragg is trying to make this a felony case is that the statute of limitations for a misdemdeanor has expired. As I said, just how he plans to manufacture a felony out of something that TWO Federal Law Enforcement Agencies have already stated was not even a crime should be entertaining.

The only downside is that it is very unlikely that this fat toad will be held liable for his prosecutorial misconduct in Noo Yawk.

I don't think Trump's re-e******n committee could have come up with anything better than this witch hunt to boost Trump's numbers. Could be that fat toad Bragg is secretly working for Trump instead of Sore Ass?

It's a dog and pony show. As I said, TWO Federal Law Enforcement agencies have already said there was no crime to prosecute, and fat boy Bragg thinks he, a local prosecutor, can manufacture a Federal felony charge out of a situation where the Federals have already stated there was no crime. I would love to meet his drug dealer.
You may not understand how Grand Juries work in this country. The prosecutor presents his evidence. There is no defense attorney and no cross examination. This is why it is said a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich. There are consequences in most places for malicious prosecutions; but not in Noo Yawk for a Trump witch hunt.

Bragg is trying to do an end run around the Statute of Limitations by upgrading this nothing burger to a Federal Felony. How he plans to do that after both the US Department of Justice and the Federal E******n Committee said no crime occurred should make for interesting theater. Got any popcorn?
You see, Bragg has one advantage. No New York DA would ever be held liable for prosecutorial misconduct if it was directed at Donald Trump, or probably any other well known Conservative. This is the only reason why he is pursuing this nothing burger. His case has more holes in it than a golf course in a Prairie Dog Town.

I figured out the no defence part. I am curious about how Grand Jury members get paid. Is it a financial hardship to sever on one for some?
