True! It explains why the left get offended by words and pronouns. One got offended when I referred to a poor and violent part of town as the "ghetto" and "inner city." He/she claimed they were code words for r****m in w***e s*********ts. He/she also got offended because I would not call it a "black community," even after I explained to him/her that the area in question was almost equal black/hispanic and white. In their anger, he/she demanded that I renounce/denounce r****m and w***e s*******y. I was like, absolutely I renounce them, at which time he/she said I ididn't do it right, at which time I discussed his/her need to pull their head out. LOL! It was a bizarre exchange.
He/she went on to describe how the white man had landed in the America's in 1619 with black s***es and yadda, yadda, yadda after that. It was like hearing a religious recital like we will be hearing in the Methodist church this weekend and every weekend, actually. Well read, recited words in monotone like supplicants of some deity/God. But wait!
It was enlightening.

I'm more of a passive supporter of the enthusiasts. IOW, I don't participate.

OPP gives all of us on both side of the discussions lot of opportunities to practice this good advice.

Yep--I am past letting anybody here get to me. I don't quote bible verses in italics or come up with propaganda sites proclaiming "facts" but I can think for myself. Have you noticed that people all think the same and talk the same as the rest of those who are in their camp? That is a temptation that I myself will resist.

Yes I have. Some discussions devolve into trashing and h**e feasts.
I too try to present original thought garnered from many sources.

Here in Ontarioโs Deep South we have just experienced the darkest winter on record. Overcast again today. So looking forward to the sunshine and heat.

You don't sound all that different to me...
