Just my two bits worth. I feel bad for those who do not use large maps to locate anything. I find the maps on the computer to be less than rewarding. People today do not even use maps to find their way while driving but allow a computer on their phone or in the dashboard to direct them to their destination. Sadly we are allowing the gimcracks in our lives to rule our lives.

Many now can even read a map. Or know where places are.

I really love to search maps for interesting looking places. Planning a trip on a map is the beginning of and adventure. Is geography still taught in school?

From the answers I see on YouTube man in the street interviews I don’t think so. The clips they include show people not having knowledge of anything beyond their neighbourhoods.

We had to learn the location of every North America state and province and their capitals. And the location of the countries in the world.

That is a generational difference. We did the same.
