So with spring near and only 6 feet of snow remaining, it is high school hockey tourney time..
Notable schools are always fun... Hermantown, a tiny school near Duluth is in the tourney for the 13th time in the last 14 years.. for all that, they own 3 championships, 5 2nd places and a run of making the finals 6 consecutive times without winning it.. but that changed.. this afternoon, they lost the simi, 1-0, giving up a goal with 19 seconds left in regular time of the game.. they still have a shot at 3 place over the weekend..
Another fun to watch school is Warrord, home of many NHL players, most notably, Henry Boucha, native american, off the rez to the olympics and the NHL, the only player said to rival Bobby Orr in ability.. when he bothered to show up sober.. Demon rum kept true fame from him and in part led to a short career of a decade or so.. He took a stick to the eye and lost his downward vision and that ended it for him.. but got a rehab that worked, allowed him to live a nice life back home, involved with the game and coaching and fundraising..
Roseau, another school of many NHL players.. did not make the tournament this year..
Warrord, took a 3-0 lead in the 1st quarter, got tied and won in double overtime 4-3.. they play in the finals this weekend.
Felt the need to talk about what matters in life so this is it..
Hockey hair is also a big contest..

LOL,,, They force school kids to wear face protection to avoid those once honored marks of valor
