I came across this picture a minute ago, and it broke me down for a minute. Gus was my running buddy for about 15 years. Best road dog ever, great with the "littles", and a ball playing fool.
Until he got old, and in pain. I had to put him down.....

No point to this other than it sucks that we out live them.😭

Dogs aren't children, but they are family. It's so hard...they depend on us for that final trip, but it is a blessing for them. Sorry for your loss.

We had a McNabb/ blue wheeler breed looked almost exactally like him. She was one of the best dogs we've had. Had her for 15 years.

I have multiple pets...have had for decades. I have made that trip so many times...it is heartbreaking each and every time.
Having their company is worth it, each/every time

Our dogs give us some of the most enjoyable times of our lives and one of the most painful. I understand exactly how you feel and share in your pain. I have a t-shirt that states; Life’s Goal, Pet All The Dogs. I’m a caninetrovert. I prefer to be surrounded by dogs instead of people. I hope fond memories help ease your pain. RIP Gus.
