So being gay is not a crime and l***q rights should be protected, but gay sex is still a sin.

Perhaps a bit convoluted, and likely based on one of the many edicts listed in Leviticus.

Of course, there are at 76 edicts mentioned, but the religious right seems to focus all of their attention on leviticus

18.22

Why do they ignore all of the rest?

And now the pope may confuse the weak-minded even more

Leviticus is not the only one. Also found in New Testament

Yep genius, there are at least 144 contradictions between OT and NT, so anyone can find something to prove their point, kind of like most laws in the US Code and the bill of rights

It is the sinful acts that made it a sin! Not the gay.

The pope is the leader of the Catholic Church.

The leader of Christians is Jesus Christ.

The pope does not speak on behalf of all Christians...just Catholics.

Roman Catholicism is the largest of the three major branches of Christianity. Thus, all Roman Catholics are Christian, but not all Christians are Roman Catholic. Of the estimated 2.3 billion Christians in the world, about 1.3 billion of them are Roman Catholics.

Man's crimes against man's laws are much different from man's crimes against God's laws (sin). It is clear in the Bible that homosexuality is a terrible sin...in several places. And punishment for unrepented sin is so much worse than earthly punishment...it could last an eternity.

You don’t realize the ignorance you display on this subject but you’re not really interested in the t***h. Its obvious your only aim is to spew h**e no matter what excuse you may come up with.

Jesus loves you anyway. You can’t change that fact no matter how h**eful you get. Pretty amazing

That is correct...IF the sinner is not sorry for their sin.

Leviticus 20:13

13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an a*********n; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

The pope is the leader of the Catholic Church. br... (show quote)

==================
The overall God of the Catholic Church is Christ. Pope followed the order of Jesus when he asked Peter. On this rock I will build my church. The Pope now takes over the place of Peter after his death.
Matthew 16:18
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. Peter is the rock.
Matthew 16:18-19
18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; wh**ever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and wh**ever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

That's when Peter traveled to Rome, after his death the Pope functions as Peter, as Christ's, to lead the Christian Catholic or Universal Church of God.
