Do you think the second amendment gives Americans the right to keep and bear arms such as grenade launchers and shoulder fired anti aircraft missiles?

Good point, same thing applies to the Bible . But the real debate about guns will have to include what the constitution really says. The right to bear arms is attached tonmaintaining an armed m*****a. If everyone was trained, like in Switzerland where all must keep a rifle in their home, we would have fewer kids and nuts gunning down unarmed people.

There are mass shooters in other countries but it is still news. Those were the good old days.

Oh my, the list is far too short!
Himars , M1A3 Abrams, M-777, F-35, F-22, F-15, A-10, B-2, H-Bomb, Missiles of all sorts-Air/Ground; Ground/Air, Ground/Ground, Air/Air; SLMG; M-4; and plenty of ammo for each. [On second thought, axe the H-Bomb. My private army corps needs to be fully equipped, but the Bomb is going too far!] My corps has three mech battalions, one heavy weapons bat., an artillery bat., an engineering bat., a comm bat., and a t***sport bat.. And a good-sized Air Force. We accept all donations!
[This month we accepted $4.78. We have a long way to go!]

Incorrect.

SCOTUS Decision in Heller

Justice Antonin Scalia wrote the majority opinion.
The Supreme Court held:[46]

(1) The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a m*****a, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense

All able citizens of the US are considered to be part of the m*****a.

Thank you for posting this. I was going to. Typical progressive talking point about m*****a. Since most murders are committed by criminals and young b****s percentage wise; I’m surprised democrats don’t want to ban young black men.

I am corrected, that is the law but it also brings up the subject of rewriting our constitution using the Supreme Court. If six liberal justices Are appointed and they do what they did on roe v wade you will be forced to interpret the founders literally, and illegally.
Self defense is undeniable a right, assault weapons including grenades etc are a stretch, actually a stupid thing to argue about , giving lots of power to regulation arguments. You are not going to last long with an automatic anything(in Vietnam the m-60 was dead in less than one minute most ambush scenes), but it looks good in media.
Uvalde was what happens when the police have experience with the ar 15. You don’t survive intact with a real shooter with one of those. They all knew it.
What do you suggest? Somehow we have to get this back to reality.

Many more homicides with a pistol than an AR-15.

That is true, many more suicides and family k*****gs . Almost zero home defense or. public defense.
Our police have armored cars and swat reams in even little towns because of armalites phenomenally good products.
The one mall shooter takedown made headlines in Japan it was so unusual .
Gun training would help, but I know from my many friends in and out of law enforcement you want a tactical shotgun and training for any home defense. They rarely see one but it’s memorable if you do.

Are you trying to say a 17 year old armed with an AR15, who never finished 9th grade, acting alone,
is gonna outgun a trained police SWAT team?

I’m not saying it , that’s what happened for 45 minutes. They had to wait for a hero and it took 400 of them that long. Your version is what?

The constitution says yes!
At the time of the 2nd amendment ratification, (1787) the army soldiers, h****rs and farmers all had the same weapon, a single shot rifle.
It also states that it is for protection from foreign and domestic (government) threats.
Seen as President Magoo is threatening the American people saying we need F-15’s to defend ourselves, we should be able to acquire wh**ever the government has (fear not , military grade automatic weapons are over $30,000 a piece)
Your average citizen can’t afford it.
So , yes is the right answer!
