oldroy-are you sure about that ? I have always been under the impression that the impeachment charges were filed by the House of Representatives and the trial was held by the Senate and, for a president, presided over by the Chief Justics of SCOTUS. You need a 2/3 majority to convict in the Senate and that is why impeachment at this time, unless there is an unquestionable mandate from the American people, is futile. It would be costly and time consuming and not worth the effort. Good Luck America !!!

What I keep trying to point out is that impeachment is an accusation that can only come from the House. You have the whole thing down to a T but the impeachment is done by the House.

For sure we would be up against some powerful people. When Obama was first elected, Hawaii's governor was Linda Lingle, a republican. She neither confirmed or denied anything, she stayed out of it. As the governor, she could have given access to the BC. By doing so, it would have proven Obama was not eligible to run for president and clear the way for the Republican, John McCain to win. But she didn't. What kind of power is behind Obama that would cause a Republican Governor to stand down and allow an ineligible democrat get elected over one of her own? Money maybe? Threats? Why didn't the National Republican party put pressure on her to produce the BC?
