Israel is a good partner for us. and in my view, they act as a very fine fixed aircraft carrier for the USAF, in the ME, and their military is very strong, so the carrier is well-defended.
Then too, they are the only democracy in the ME, which is a plus!
If Iran becomes an issue for us, Israel would be a great partner in solving the problem. Syria is a problem even now and both Lebanon and Palestine are hotbeds to watch. You can never tell when the Suez Canal might become a serious problem for us.
The Tampa Times has been a l*****t rag for years, too, so their opinions have to be taken rather carefully.
