I thought we could all use an "uplift" to our day. What a wonderful advertisement based on true events...
Even in War, we can find "Peace"...

Quote :
100 years ago, on the Christmas Eve of 1914, a series of sporadic, unofficial truces spread across the front lines of those fighting in the trenches of World War One.

That moving moment is documented in a new advert by Sainsbury’s, a large supermarket chain in the U.K.

The cinematic masterpiece features soldiers cautiously abandon their trenches and exchange greetings with those with whom they had been fighting. In the nearly four-minute ad, the two sides compete in a soccer match before the soldiers walk back into their trenches and pull out gifts each had exchanged.

What a beautiful story, it brings a tear to your eye. We send men out to k**l each other, and they face (with the exception of ISIS, or other Jihadists) young men just like them who would rather be home with family. War IS hell.

I copied it and sent it out to friends and family on my email list. I also watched the story behind it.

It's sad how men are sent out to k**l each other. The big wigs who send them, I wonder if they ever suffer. Those with a conscience - but today, greed rules.

How I look forward to Jesus return, now that will be Christmas.

Your a beautiful soul, Ms. BearK~~

PS>>I've often said those "big wigs" that invite the war should be the ones to fight with each other, last one standing rules it, not everyone else!!

My son didn't have a Christmas dinner in 2012, Bagram was under mortar fire all day, a little Merry Muslim Christmas from the Taliban. He and I exchanged several emails and, I wonder if he knew how worried my poor mind really was? I never told his mother the situation until much later, because I didn't have anything in me to give after being such a confident dad for my kid all day. That is one holiday that I feel blessed because he came to no harm but, wished he was home opening gifts with us just the same.

For all these young people away this Christmas I give them my heartfelt prayers and thanks for what they do.

Service Man’s Prayer by Edwin De Hoff

Dear Savior, I have left my home
And all whom I hold dear.
Guide me with Thy loving hand
And be Thou ever near.

So let me live from day to day,
In steadfast love for Thee
That I may never grieve their hearts,
That pray at home for me.

Keep me from every harm and sin
That I may never roam,
From Thy pure word, which I have learned
In my dear Christian home.

Grant me success in all I do
If Thou will have it come
But let me value more than this,
My Christian faith and home.

Amen and thank you linda!
