yes indeedy we could sure use more things made from hemp . It was a dirty trick to call it a class A narcotic . The hemp used for fiber is not able to get a person high. We could really use a crop like Hemp that doesn't require any where near the water that cotton does and you don't have to fertilize it or spray it with pesticides which both k**l the soil .

I have been preaching about industrial hemp for a while. No one wants to listen. When I was quite young, before moving out west, there were a lot of families in the area of the Southeast where I was born who used a good job in a textile factory as a way out of the poorhouse. Those jobs have been outsourced overseas. They could be replaced with a hemp industry. All those farmers growing tobacco could grow hemp and it could revitalize the middle class in the Southeast, anyway. Cotton and pulpwood could be replaced by hemp. I'm not sure about bamboo, I don't think it is as versatile.

I'm with you Smedley. I would love to see a major industrial hemp industry flourish. It is 4 times stronger than cotton and lasts much longer. It takes half as much water to grow it and get this cotton uses 25% of the worlds pesticides to grow it where hemp uses hardly any .

Democratic Government Control. Need I say More. If I'm not mistaken trump made it so that farmers could plant Hemp. I think that you have to secure a permit. I will do some research on this.

It was made legal to plant hemp in 2018 by the farm offices in Washington. They have a lot of rules to be able to grow it.

And it is...I can't think of a bad enough word to describe the intentional misinformation pumped out about hemp in order to criminalize it. The opportunities/prosperity denied...it's shameful. I do hope it can be rectified soon.

I hope so too. I would love to see hempcrete put into common use and paper made from hemp could preserve a great deal of forest. I don't think any source of fiber should be non utilized that along with any and all sources of energy but that is another subject .
