The guy has no sense of caution filters when dealing with employees as people, the guy literally thinks people can be bullied and badgered into totally senseless degrees of compliance with his concepts that are beyond stupidity. The guy just seems to like to make people dance to his personal tune.

I've known people that have this style of management, which seems to consist of just how stupidly people can be made to do things...examples such as sweeping and cleaning floors in a shop right in the middle of making a serious mess, it makes no sense to spend half an hour doing the end of the day cleanup twice. I asked a guy repeatedly, did he want me to be able to get a priority job done by the end of the day or did he want to keep taking people away from their jobs to do the things you would normally do at the end of the day after the job is completed.

Musk seems to be trying to create a group that will do wh**ever he wants, will work insane hours, and I'm sure he has no intention of paying people for the 80 hour weeks he wants to demand they do.

I had to pressure illustrators back in the late 70's to work longer hours, it was extremely tricky how you worded forced overtime, never mind the fact that if people are working it they will get paid time and a half or double time beyond 12 hours.

Too many greedy employers are into gaming their employees on overtime they are getting paid for themselves, then they don't want to kick down the time and a half to the people doing the work. Musk creates chaotic pressures by reducing staff, then plays a team player card where he represents the need for exceptional employees that are willing to do insane pushes to save a company. People have a right to refuse to work at abusive levels when the management has created the problem in the first place.

I've worked in blue collar companies losing money and then new management takes over. Three things can happen to you. You can be fired. You can quit. You can survive and work harder than you ever did before.

Pardon me if I have no sympathy for spoiled keyboard jockies going through what I endured in the 1970s and 80s doing real work, while eating dirt and breathing smoke.

Be good for you to hear what a famous l*****t has to say.

Piers Morgan roasts left's 'miserably predictable' meltdown over Elon Musk

Twitter employees:

"How am I supposed to do actual work when I'm a neurodivergent furry with a debilitating anxiety disorder? If I'm fired, where will I spend my days drinking wine and playing hacky sack? This is inhumane!"

"We're in a real pickle. Most of us don't even have job titles, per se. We just sort of hang around and get upset about politics. Now we have nowhere to go!"

"I know I used to do something. I mean, I use Twitter. That's kind of like a job. I do lots of activist posting where I punch up at rich white men. That's important."

Many employees, who reportedly have salaries in excess of $150,000 a year, have shared that they don't even remember what they were hired to do in the first place.

I wish Mr. Musk luck. In the end hopefully he makes twitter profitable. If he doesn't the workers will have more to worry about than him and he will be $ 40 B poorer. I was happy with him taking over twitter, but I question whether he allowed his ego to get in the way of good business sense. What he paid for it and the fact it was losing money seems to me like a bad use of $ 40B.

=============================

It comes down to whether you want a job or not.

Do your 40-hour week and walk away.

Come back the next day to pick up your severance pay.

Many engineers must earn their spurs by giving of their own time, be it 60, 70 or even 80-hour workweeks. I did it, and learned my job, earned my pay, and garnered the promotions and salary increases due. With more responsibility, came more hours, and no such thing as overtime pay.

He is getting rid of the lazy, the drifters, the duds, and the outright thieves of their salaries.

He is establishing an honest work ethic.

He is motivating the remaining crowd to get with the plan.

He runs his companies as he sees fit, and outsiders have zero say about it! You included.

You can also organize and form a strong union. Twitter is ripe for it.

Sure they can. I am betting it will not work. If I worked there and was unhappy for what ever reasons I would find another job. I speculate that twitter employees are all highly technical and most should be able to find employment elsewhere. Negotiate as big of a severance as you can and then get out of Dodge.

I’m not sure about that I heard all the tech companies are going to be laying off thousands of people after January 1

Maybe he could have donated that 40 $$$$ billion to Conservative politicians running in the mid term e******ns. He could have outfunded Sam Fried of FTX fame who donated laundered demorat/ukrainian funds to the demorat politicians. Slo joe and the dems think they are slick to use our tax dollars to fund their political hacks. Hopefully their heads will roll shortly.
