White House adviser Keisha Lance Bottom continued the Biden administration's pattern of attacking "MAGA Republicans" and claiming that followers of former President Donald Trump are a threat to the country.

In an interview with MSNBC's Jonathan Capehart on "The Sunday Show," Bottoms claimed that Democrats, Republicans, and independents should all be concerned about this threat.

"There is a MAGA Republican agenda that gives no consideration to the rule of law, that has no respect for a woman’s right to choose, that wants to defund the FBI," she said. "There is a MAGA Republican agenda that thought that it was okay to attack our nation’s Capitol on J****** 6."

For weeks, highlighted by President Biden's polarizing speech in Philadelphia, he and his administration have danced on the line of claiming that they were only referring to a segment of the Republican Party while also painting the GOP as a whole with broad strokes by stating that they were being taken over by MAGA Republicans.

"Not every Republican, not even the majority of Republicans, are MAGA Republicans. Not every Republican embraces their extreme ideology," Biden said in his Philadelphia speech. Two sentences later, he said, "But there is no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans, and that is a threat to this country."

Capehart observed that Biden's administration has taken "a tough line … against Republicans writ large," and asked Bottoms if they would "keep hammering away at that phrase" heading toward November’s e******n.

"Well, I think it will be important for all of us who care about the United States of America to call out what we see," said Bottoms, the former mayor of Atlanta. "And what we see, again, with this MAGA Republican agenda is an effort to disrupt our democracy. So whether it be through November and beyond November, I think it will always be important to call out any effort there is to destroy, essentially destroy the United States of America."

Bottoms went on to say that "President Biden has been very clear" about wanting "to work in a bipartisan effort" but blamed Trump supporters for standing in the way, claiming that they have an "agenda that no respect for the Constitution" or "for free and f**r e******ns."

Without stating exactly what that agenda is, Bottoms declared that "it is important for all of us, not just the president, not just me, for all of us to call it out for what it is."

"It is a danger to our democracy," she said. "It is a danger to our way of life."

When the Left claims something is theirs, they mean it.
A curious turn of phrase has slipped into discourse over the last few years. References to “our democracy” turn up all the time lately, and even though a computer search shows that the phrase has popped up now and then since at least the 1920s, its usage has increased a lot recently.

It’s something that many people probably haven’t noticed, and it’s certainly innocuous enough. “Our democracy” hardly seems fraught with controversy. After all, we all have a stake in the political system, and it sounds like a nice way to describe the republic—the “common thing”—we share.

Consider a recent article in Time magazine that explains how a “shadow campaign saved the 2020 e******n.” According to the major piece, which was written with the cooperation of the organizers of the shadow campaign, “a loosely organized coalition of operatives scrambled to shore up America’s institutions as they came under simultaneous attack from a remorseless p******c and an autocratically inclined President.” These plotters, according to reporter Molly Ball, included corporate executives, “non-partisan” civil society groups like Protect Democracy, and Norm Eisen, the former Obama administration official who umpired the first Trump impeachment.

Ball writes,

That’s why the participants want the secret history of the 2020 e******n told, even though it sounds like a paranoid fever dream–a well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information. They were not rigging the e******n; they were fortifying it. And they believe the public needs to understand the system’s fragility in order to ensure that democracy in America endures.

“Democracy,” in this sense, where a handful of extremely wealthy and powerful insiders “change rules and laws,” and “control the flow of information,” may not resemble the democracy that you learned about in civics class but is a term of art reflecting uniparty control from above. “Democracy” is a system owned by the people who run the country’s major institutions—it’s not a playground for outsiders.

When we hear “our democracy,” then, we should hear it as a description of possession. They aren’t saying that it belongs to all of us. It is theirs, and they will do anything they can to defend it.

You lie, k**l, and destroy anything that doesn't reflect your image. And that leaves out 98% of Americans. Too bad we out-number you and the military is with us. Kari Lake isn't a f**e w***n and she kicking your butts. Women in both Israel and Iran are kicking your butt. It's global now and people are waking up. Just in time for the e******ns. And timing is important. You don't want to crest too soon or too late.
