So-called “fact-checkers” have come under increasing scrutiny, with some arguing that they are simply a vehicle to silence dissenting voices.

One of those critics is commentator Tim Young, and in a piece published this week by American Greatness, he suggested that conservatives should turn to the courts for relief.

Fact-check used by Twitter to limit reach

Young recalled the reaction to a tweet he put out following Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death in 2020.

Just a reminder that Ruth Bader Ginsburg could have casually retired at 80 yrs old under Obama and been replaced by an ultra progressive in their 40s... but they chose not to.

It's not Republicans' or Trump's fault that they get the opportunity to push through a new justice.

His statement then became the subject of a fact-check by USA Today whose headline read, “No guarantee Obama would’ve replaced Ginsburg with a progressive justice.”

Young then pointed to another fact-checking exercise directed towards a tweet in which he compared the amount of attention Johnny Depp’s lawsuit against Amber Heard received with that directed towards Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial.

Around the Web

In response, a fact-checking group called Verify This rated his tweet as “false” because not all courts have the same camera polices.

The rating was then used as an excuse by Twitter to issue a warning that Young had shared false information. According to Young, this is “how the modern ‘fact-checking’ regime works.”

Lawsuits challenging social media censorship

“They don’t like your opinion, so they add ‘context’ that wasn’t there in the first place, then disprove the context they added, knowing you will be f**gged and possibly suspended from social media,” he explained.

“There aren’t many ways to rectify these actions by the regime in our time,” complained, but added that two figures may be “onto something.”

“Rogan O’Handley, known as DC Draino on Instagram began bringing lawsuits with the help of Harmeet Dhillon against social media companies and the state of California for censoring his opinions after the 2020 e******n,” Young noted.

“Perhaps it’s time for class action lawsuits against these major media companies and the reporters who feel empowered to cancel others’ free speech with their own opinions,” he asserted.

So-called "fact checkers" are a joke. Most people are aware of that. The dems only keep using them to push their narratives and excuse their censorship and propaganda, IMHO.

Yes, all true. Same with Wikimedia, if you want the true definition of something, best go to Merrium Webster dictionary

She refuses to read any article/thread where a fact checker says the website is far right or disinformation.

By the way today is Wednesday. Tomorrow is Thursday. I did say I would remind you.

Even Facebook's Zuckerberg had to admit in a lawsuit brought on by John Stossel that their "fact checks" were really opinions.

I believe she's an inmate at an asylum and don't know what's going on in the outside world. The only news they show is CNN and MSNBC. She doesn't have to spend money to buy groceries, gas, or any of her needs.

I thought the Dems did away with all the asylums? She, and all the rest, must be in a place where they promote c*******m. That's how they get paid.
