I'm sorry, I'm from Texas, spent a lot of time working, and associating with cowboys. That being said....Do you think, if he was roped by his ankles, and drug by a horse through a bunch of misquite, and cactus for a while...Maybe he would find a little humility in himself, and learn to respect ladies?

To begin with, Brian was very kind to me recently. There has been a large v***l meningitis scare on campus. He was most kind in hoping ProgenyE and myself did not become ill.

Brian perceives, quite often, he is the authority on societal behaviors and values. All of his perceptions are based on Western European Socialist mores. He h**es our Founding Fathers, all Veterans after WWII, Christians, southerners, gun owners....basically anyone who is not a Socialist/C*******t. NO ONE who does not totally and completely agree with his philosphy has any value. It is his belief he is totally correct in all things. He is an elitist. It has always been a fascination that those who declare we must be tolerant are the least tolerant of any group.

Jeff Merkley, liberal Democratic, Oregon U.S. Senator trounced the GOP flat earther. Oregon legalized recreational pot, joining Washington St. and Colorado. Washington St. authorized more intense background checks and closing of gun goober loopholes for gun shows and the internet. Washington St. defeated a proposed right wing gun goober law prohibiting state gun laws from being more strict than federal laws.

Yes, sometimes Democracy works very well, especially when you live in an incredibly progressive region of the country. There is a lot to be said for not living in West Outhouse, Alabama, or Deliverance, Georgia.

I, gleefully, await how you are going to define MA, MD and IL...who....ding...ding...ding...elected REPUBLICAN Governors last night. Really going to be stretch for you to define them as you do southern states.

Let us put this into numerical perspective. 62% of the state's have Republican Governors. I do not perceive OH nor WI as southern states. You best work on your meme for defining states. It is old, boring, and wrong.

Many swing states in this nation fluctuate wildly in their political choices from e******n cycle to e******n cycle. My wife and I are very content to live in a liberal college town, that is progressive down to its very bedrock.

We are more than comfortable to live in an area more focused on health care for all, than more guns for all.

There are no wild fluctuations here. The area has been left of center for decades. Its a big part of the draw for so many people.

On balance, I was pleased for our area, with last nights e******n results. The National Democratic Party will have to do what both major parties always do after a mid-course correction; lick its wounds, re-group, re-strategize and being to prepare for the big game---the 2016 p**********l e******n.

You could be right. We haven't left Ecotopia in over 20 years. Ecotopia consists of the areas of Washington, Oregon, Northern California and British Columbia. It does not wildly fluctuate between blue and red. It focuses on the environment; it is anti-war, live and let live about sexuality and marijuana, encouraging of alternative energy and alternative farming methods. It is not particularly enamored with organized religion or guns. People don't go into cardiac arrest if someone brings up the implementation of socialized medicine (a done deal in British Columbia), just like marijuana is a done deal in Washington St., Oregon, and de facto in California (which should be a done deal in 2016).

It has red pockets but they have minimal representation and influence. Those pockets are not considered especially desirable, as places to live, by the ruling majority. The intensely blue areas are considerably more aware of trends in London, Amsterdam, and Barcelona, than they are about trends in Richmond, Nashville, or rural Wisconsin.

Yeah, I suppose its easy to not focus as intensely as we could on statehouse issues in other parts of the country.

Did you know that California, the big enchilada of e*******l v**es (55) has not given those e*******l v**es to a Republican since 1988.

Its a big reason President Obama won two easy victories in 2008 and 2012. In spite of Tuesday's mid-term predictable corrections, Calif. is again expected to be the big enchilada in th 2016 p**********l e******n.

Most people around here responded to Tuesay's national results, as they usually do with earthquakes---meaning a head's up but little panic. Hey, California survived Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan.

We won't be sending the likes of those folks to D.C.......ever again.
