When someone tries to break in your back door you are not to use something as fearsome as an AR-15 to fire a warning shot to prove that you have a gun and will use it. This is a sad story, but what more can we expect from the Left Coast?

Cops use warning shots themselves! One set of rules for us and another for them. Cops are supposed to work for us not the other way around.

Wasn't it our much maligned Vice-President, Joseph Biden who said a couple of shots from a double barreled shotgun should be fired in the air to scare those people off? Here we have a man with an AR-15 doing what Biden said and he gets arrested, charged with crimes and has his gun taken away and he tried to convince the robber that he was armed. Maybe old Foot in Mouth Joe will come in and explain the difference in weapon choice.

Typical crap punish the law abiding homeowner for some felon (turd's) sorry ways. Next time wait until he violates your premises and you and your family are at risk then ask him to leave please.

Ask him to leave after shooting directly at him, is what I say. The man did just what Biden suggested, with a much less dangerous weapon and got in trouble for it. I wonder who gets to pay for the bullet hole. No I don't because I know it is the shooter who gets to pay for his own mistake.

A nice weapon; however, it has been said by many a weapon owner that nothing sends chills down a criminals back like the sound of a shell being (hope the next word is correct) ratcheted into the chamber of a pump shotgun. Apparently the sound alone is a "warning shot".

You are talking about a shotgun that holds more than one shell and can be used for that scary sound. The gun that Joe Biden wanted used is a double barreled 12 gauge but you only have to change hammers to shoot the second barrel.

The sound is quite charming to the holder of the weapon, not so much to the person bent upon criminal mischief.

But one of Biden's 12 gauge double barrel fires twice without that sound.

However, as you and others have stated, two shots and you are empty.

You have to break that thing down and take out the empty shells and reload ever two shots. Of course, Foot in Mouth Joe doesn't understand hard things like that.

He further did not understand the two to three local laws his advice violated.

He knew about those laws, after the fact, but doesn't think that those simple local laws mean anything compared to what he thinks is national law.

Before asking him to leave, inform him you are in a safe zone and have a whistle.
