Christianity is a religion which requires the bending of human will--through faith and free choice--to God's will. Yet, as practiced in our day and age, Christianity is a religion of consensus and popular opinion. Instead of molding our lifestyle to our faith, today we mold our faith to our lifestyle.

That explains why there are so many Christian denominations. The Word of God is crystal clear, yet many try to bend the words to support non Biblical teachings. The fault is not with Scripture. The fault is in peoples hearts.

The only time our mother ever took us to church was on Easter. We went to the babtist church every year. My brother, and I always complained about how dumb it was to have to get all dressed up just to go get yelled at.

You got yelled at a lot then, huh?
I'll be honest, I have tried all kinds of churches, and eventually was just turned off by the whole idea.
A few years back, Mrs.B. discovered this place where we go now. The first time she drug me in there, a big ol tattooed up biker looking guy gave us the warmest greeting I have ever had. I figured I could deal with it then. They just teach the bible, and are glad to see you there. Simple. No judgement, no demands, or requirements. Just come in and be with us. It is a good place to go, and be.

Our churches, two, did not yell at congregants.
There is a growth in smaller, non affiliated churches.
Have you noticed MrsB consistently makes good choices for you?

That sounds a great deal like the nondenominational church we go to. Everyone is welcomed with open arms. fortunately, while all are welcomed, the church does not bend or break the ten commandments to make people feel good about remaining sinners and not trying to ask God for forgiveness, and asking for the strength to sin no more. We had gone to churches that seemed h**eful places, where to help or love was offered to sinners just condemnation, and churches where what ever you felt was right for you was therefore Godly. Couldn't deal with either kind. We were not looking for a weekly deluge of h**e for not being perfect, or a social club pretending to be a church. We have been blessed with the little church we go to.
