Challenge to Prayer

John 15:7

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

If the Lord has promised He will do things for you, it is up to you to take Him at His word. If you doubt, and say, "IF it be They will." Since we know that it is His will, don't play the doubting Thomas, come right out with your request, be bold, be sure. He is your God, you are His child. Both in Matthew and Luke, we are told, "if you...know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him..."

Jesus told His disciples that they could do the acts He did, and greater. Why aren't we seeing great acts today? How much time do you spend in prayer is the answer. Jesus often went 'all night in prayer.' Yes, He had the Father's ear, but the Father had His heart and time. The challenge is, in this hectic day to day life - take out time alone to pray. Find a prayer closet, lock the world out. I believe the Lord will shower you with unbelievable blessings.

What A Friend We Have In Jesus

1. What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

2. Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

3. Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge; take it to the Lord in prayer. Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In his arms he'll take and shield thee; thou wilt find a solace there.
