Seek His Love

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

The reason this is so late, I've struggled trying to find a verse of inspiration. The verse I'm using is not really inspirational, but it tells you how the Spirit is represented in you. So often, the Spirit is either referred to in terms of water, such as 'flowing over you,' or 'washing you,' or 'cleansing you' in some way. We think of God the Father, or Jesus our Savior, but how often do you think of the Spirit? When you start to put the Spirit within you, or washing over you, or finding yourself in the deep - that is the Spirit.

As long as you stay in shallow water, you are in control, but when you get into water over your head, that's when you let the Spirit control you. That's how it is with the Word of God. When you just read it, and memorize a verse or two here and there - it's shallow water. When you really immerse yourself in the Word, to study it, and ponder it - that's when the Spirit answers the call to show you what God means. Case in point: I was truly studying and I questioned God as to why 'The Song of Solomon' was in the Bible. I said to Him, it is so lascivious. The Spirit informed me, "that is the love relationship the Lord has with His people." Seek His love.

Apparently, you and I were both meant to struggle with the Wednesday Devotional. finding the hymn was quite easy. I wish I could say the same about finding a very good version on Youtube. It will have to suit.

Take My Life, Let It Be

1 Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.

2 Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.

3 Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.

4 Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.

5 Take my will and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.

6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee.

Good advice, to say the least.
I've found that a "study" Bible is the best way to be guided to what God would like to reveal to you.
When reading a verse and looking at the study notes, another verse is listed for you to turn the pages to, and another, and another, and so on.....from Genesis to Revelations you can find consistency no matter where you turn and it can overwhelm you with the Holy Spirit always sending the message which was meant for you to learn.
