Directive to physicians and family or surrogates regarding C***d ** or variants thereof and treatment protocols
I see that as a damn good directive.

👍 It could save your life in the event you need to be hospitalized. Be sure to make a copy for yourself so you have proof.
I was having pain around my rib cage and the doctor's nurse said I should go into emergency. She was thinking it was a heart attack. The emergency room was packed, so I told them I'm going home. They were planning an overnight stay for me - for observation purposes - and I told them I'm not staying. Later, I told my doctor about it, and that I thought it was one of my kidneys. He wanted a scan but his nurse has flopped twice on getting me an appointment. Guess I should call again.

Yes you should call again. At our age, something like that could turn serious very quickly. They could probably do an MRI or CT scan and find the problem.

The doctor ordered a CT scan. I'll call mañana.
I called again and as of today they haven't gotten back to me. That nurse reminds me of Nurse Ratched.

Ginny - don't fool around. Last week my sister was driving down the road when suddenly her middle/upper abdomen started to hurt. It got worse and worse, and she had to stop the car and call an ambulance. When she got to the hospital, she had a burst abscess in her colon, causing sepsis. They moved her from the ambulance INTO THE OPERATING PREP ROOM! The doctor told her husband he wasn't sure she was going to make it out of surgery! (She did, but she was in the hospital for the whole week, and is going to need more surgery.)
Don't wait. It could mean your life. And if not, then you were good to yourself to check it out properly.

The people I'm dealing with appear to be over-educated dunces! I got another call from the hospital asking for the former owner of my new telephone number. Don't they realize that, in this new age of technology, numbers change?
Thank you for your concern, Emily, but I'm not afraid to die. In fact, I've been wondering why I lived as long as I have.
