Trump Admin People Seem To Think Everything They Do Can Be Done In Secrecy...USPS
DeJoy was trying to keep the negotiations involved in the decision making process for how they came to give a multi billion dollar contract for 160,000 trucks to a small manufacturer that managed to set some kind of new record for the worst possible gas mileage imaginable in this modern era of high mileage vehicles.
Government requisitions of this size and type typically involve rigorous oversight and congressional approval, they will be beat up nine ways to Sunday, it's part of the process. They should have had all the big auto manufacturers involved that wanted a shot at the contract, and it should have been a race for who could build a vehicle that was built to last, and save the postal service the most money in fuel.
Postal route trucks are literally an electric vehicle wet dream, set routes in terms of mileage, there are routes that could use a smaller battery setup because they don't go that far, and order bigger battery packs for longer rural routes. They can be charged at night and ready for the next day's use.
The postal service trucks use hundreds of millions of gallons of gas. buying 160,000 trucks that get 8.9 miles to the gallon doesn't even make any sense, to anyone with a functioning brain. I don't see how a drivetrain package couldn't be done that gets upwards of 20mpg, these trucks don't have to have big engines, they don't need to go fast.
And now DeJoy doesn't think he has to share how this stupid a decision was made on a no bid contract that doesn't even make any sense? Biden needs to freeze the funds on this...give the government the chance to give it the proper oversight.

What do you think about a no bid contract for trucks that are a joke in terms of unheard of bad gas mileage?

About as much as I think about open borders, high inflation, phony drug mandates, government run misinformation departments, phony 1*6 investigations and prosecutions, f********t e******ns, i**********ns in Nov 2020 e******ns and Portland and Seattle, a demented president and an incompetent vice President, a criminal speaker of the house and a criminal leader of the Senate. I could go on and on.
