A 2nd possibility is, "Do you mean a "clique," as in a "high school clique?" - meaning a circle of friends associated by common interests?

Hi Cali,

In this day and age, our culture has become so coursened and so crude that nothing proceeding from anyone's mind ~ via their mouth is too surprising, but when it is presented in such a manner as to claim to be God's thoughts, from God's own Word, sacrilege does appear to be the applicable word.

Desecration, profanation, misuse, or theft of something regarded as sacred.

Strongs Exhaustive Concordance is not written by God, Frank. It was written by James Strong (August 14, 1822 – August 7, 1894) who was an American Methodist Academic - a professor, scholar, lexicographer, and theologian.

It sounds as if he would qualify for your despised "ivory tower."

Defining English words with an English dictionary is not sinful, - and we are to respond not to each other with the wonder of a child, but to God. Jesus said, "Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these" (Mark 10:14).

- However, as Jesus told us, in our dealings with humankind, "Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be as Shrewd as a Serpent, yet Innocent as a Dove" (Matthew 10:16).

To do otherwise is to find someone eating our lunch on a daily basis.

I had unsubscribed from this section a while back because of the PM's that go unnoticed, but if you're aware you can tell by the subtle undertones, when a person realizes this is how it is, it's a separation that leaves a person wondering with personal questions. When some one take over a subject and the one your responding to doesn't even reply, this is a power play because here in the 'religious section' your trying to work and relay what God is trying to bring out understanding in His Bible, warn twice, after that whomsoever can go and search for God Word to help them understand. I searched seditions with the help of the King James 1611 and the Strongs Exhaustive Concordance. This was written by Paul. We should not look to a dictionary because that would not be GOD speaking, but man. Always Rightly Divide The Word of GOD, with Christian people who research Gods Word. Instead of asking with the wonder of a child, people write a long whitewashed holier than Thou response, which to me distracts on what the poster is trying to convey. I'm still young and have many things to do around the house, repairing our vehicles ( don't take my car to a mechanic, I'll repair right up to overhauling engines, transmission's I'll order a new on and install it myself ) among other chores on our list. It's not a matter of either or, Frank... Consulting a secular dictionary does not invalidate the Word of God, nor does it preclude consulting one, three or ten Bibles, Bible Dictionaries, etc.

Why would you choose to believe that both weren't studied?

God knows who we all are. I am versed in God's Holy Word, and the Holy Spirit would gently tap me with a 2"x4" if I should wander far adrift... and begin to regard a fellow OPP poster as an Appalachian stereotypical backwoods, redneck, hillbilly, rattlesnake-handling miscreant.

How about you? Attempting to control those with whom you interact on a website seems to be an exercise in futility to me.

As Peter and the other apostles replied, "We must obey God rather than men" (Acts 5:29).

Whether or not someone responds to your post is their personal choice. No one is obligated to post or to reply to anything. Again, it's their free choice, and as for someone else posting on your thread, whether it is a long or short post, that is also their choice.

A "power play???" That is really strange thinking. Are you into video games, per chance?

To have an intelligent conversation, debate, discussion, without defining the terms, words or phrases leaves all participants at a disadvantage, for your intrinsic understanding of a subject, based on your background, education, experiences, etc., could radically differ from others. English words are defined by an English dictionary.

Do you see a conspiracy there? - a sinister plot, perhaps?

If it eases your mind, there is within a 30 foot range of my computer desk a bookcase containing 50 plus Bibles, most are Study Bibles, accompanied by a comprehensive selection of Biblical Histories of Middle-Eastern lands, tribes and ancient religions; Lexicons, Dictionaries, Commentaries, Handbooks, Concordances, and stored in my hard drive, there are easily half a dozen Bible software programs.

At all times, I have stacks of books literally surrounding my recliner, on the lamp table, on the floor, on another set of book shelves.

...and for backup, although I am not presently living there, in my country home, nine miles north, is my personal library of thousands more volumes, which I have joyfully collected and studied over the last fifty years, almost all of which could be defined as reference books/historical documentation, Bible maps, Comparative Religion - all pertaining to the Bible, the Holy Scriptures, the God-breathed Word of Life, of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the Living Logos.

Why do you consider "interpreting" God's Word as such a struggle. Does not the Holy Spirit inform you, guide you, lead you, counsel you, to the proper study and conclusion?

Why would you preoccupy yourself with whether or not you can "trust" unseen, faceless members of an online internet forum?

Trust God.

2 Kings 6:16 "Do not be afraid,” Elisha answered, “for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
2 Kings 6:17 Then Elisha prayed, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw that the hills were full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha."

I've seen no one on this thread in any way insinuate they had the honor of being Jewish, or for that matter, Polish, Irish or Italian.

We've all encountered "evil people," iFrank, You have no monopoly on confronting Satan's emissaries.

The prayers at the beginning of the thread were to Almighty God, and He knows everyone's spiritual condition.

I believe you're extended over your skis, when you assume responsibility for the wording of other's prayers.

God's Word is multi=purpose: "2 Timothy 3:16-17
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Jesus was speaking of both physical and spiritual sickness and healing:

In Luke 5:31, Jesus answered, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

As for your not being here to teach God's Word, that is truly a relief, for I've seen no evidence that you are in any way capable of doing so.

Trust God.

Yes He does bless me with full understanding, so did you decide on whether your going to enlightening me on what you meant on repost? As for your other reply, this is a gathering of information. Did you want me to supply scripture on how I came to that conclusion?

So there you go again saying someone is playing the devil and you still send out blessing. I think you should know what the Bible says about casting pearl onto swine, I let God pick it up and let those seeds grow or will you trample on them, or let let them die in your bramble bush.
