Thanks for the welcome Dutchman. I finally signed on after looking at the forum for a number of days as it popped into my email box. I personally think we have our work cut out for us. We need to return to a system motivated by principles and virtue and not by power, control, and corruption.

I don't really care what party someone is affiliated with so much as whether they truly value freedom and liberty and the vision of the Founders of America. We seem to me to be on track to loose the republic and join Athens and Rome in the list of great political experiments that ultimately failed. Time to push back hard because anything less will likely fail.

How interesting. Someone who understands the alphabetic designation after a candidates name does not always reflect exactly the candidates positions. It has been a consistent fascination for me the rabid party only v**er. There are people on both sides who would v**e straight party even if the candidate was a possible ,ex. p*******e. Perhaps it is time we used Dr. King's thoughts. We should change the thought from not the content of the party but the "content of their character". Poorly written but hopefully understood.

While you journey here with us on One Political Plaza, you will find some who believe that denigrating insults are acceptable debate. It can cause an individual's ire to rise such that you want to scream "MEDIC defrib me.". As a bit of superciliousness on my part, I was able to rid us of a plague of one of that type yesterday hopefully never to return.

Looking forward to your thoughts.

Thanks for the warning ... as a veteran of the the mindless rhetoric wars I am largely immune to insult ... I have a number of soft insults that I use when I'm under heavy fire. The problem today is largely that very few actually learn how to think and reason instead they learn how to be emotional and mindless ... the reason? well ... check this out for example: Common Core bringing you mindlessly indoctrinated children.

One does not want to even mention Common Core to me or my best friend. She is a teacher who is preparing to retire before it is truly financially feasible because of Common Core.
